Simple Graces Community Outreach: Sharing sunshine, one Act of Kindness at a time

As the founder of a small, woman-owned business and someone who spent over a decade working in the nonprofit sector, I believe in the power of being present and involved in my local community. I volunteer my time with several nonprofit committees, utilizing my community relations, marketing, and event background to support these nonprofits’ operational goals.

It is a personal passion of mine to see strong communities, created even stronger through human to human connection.

We personally thrive when we are supported by the people around us; families, organizations, schools, businesses, athletic teams, friends and neighbors to name a few. Businesses and organizations thrive when they value and appreciate the individuals who utilize their services.

When I envisioned Simple Graces fitting into my community outside of the Mindfulness and Yoga for Wellness Programs I offer, one word came to mind: Service.

The yogic principle of Seva, selfless service, is the concept of serving from a heart-centered point of view without any expectation of outcomes. Selfless service roots us in gratitude and joy. It connects us to others on the most basic human level. It makes us a part of their story and they become a part of our story.

Maybe we are in the midst of our own storm, and can’t find that pop of sunshine to lead us out. Oftentimes it is through a simple act of kindness, given or received, that resets our perspective and shifts our story. Our realization of oneness returns. Our hearts become lighter. Our hope for brighter days ahead is restored. Our rainbow appears. I am personally and professionally committed to sharing sunshine, sending ripples of kindness out into the world, and inspiring others to do the same.

Simple Graces encourages meaningful Acts of Kindness by:

  • Collaborating at local wellness events & promoting mindful movement through yoga

  • Providing mindful arts & crafts tables in support of local nonprofit events

  • Creating and placing Kindness Rocks

  • Writing and decorating cards for seniors, troops, and those in need of a little pick me up

  • Sunshine Care Packages (i.e. Mandala Books & Colored Pencils, Affirmation Cards)

Do you know of someone or a family in need of a little sunshine?
